The upgrading of your item is an essential factor in maximizing the power of your gear. It lets you add bonus stats onto the value of your item's base level.

Each upgrade template comes with a set of options which can be set up using the edition GUI. These options include upgrading reference and upgrading chance.

Upgrade components

As part of the 2.0 update, the system for upgrading armor and weapons in Cyberpunk has been reworked. Upgrade components are scattered across Night City. The item you wish to upgrade must also have an upgrade slot. The game will show a preview of the item's expected stats after upgrading. It will also display the required component or material. If you don't have the required level or resource to upgrade an item, the button will read "Blocked."

Weapons and armor can be upgraded, as well as some trinkets and gathering tools. Rerolls are useful at the beginning of the game, when you are building your inventory. However,  item upgrading 're not the best method to increase your character's stats. Instead, you should concentrate on getting more skill points. You can also earn bonus points by completing the event levels.

Leveling
